The influence of footwear on biomechanics of foot strike of recreational runners
Pekárková, Klára ; Pokorný, Jan (advisor) ; Illinger, Vojtěch (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of hyperpronation syndrome of recreational runners, whose frequency is 15-20 % in the running community. The aim of this work is to evaluate the effect of footwear on the degree of hyperpronation and related parameters of the running step. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the kinesiology of the foot with emphasis on the functional issues of hyperpronation, biomechanics of the running step and the connection of the running step with running injuries. In the practical part, running in footwear and running barefoot are compared using images from 2D kinematic analysis and data from the Zebris FDM-T System. The clinical examination of the modified Trendelenburg and Véle test is also evaluated. The monitored group consists of 13 recreational runners (7 men and 6 women, average age 26,5 years). The measured parameters are the degree of hyperpronation (objectified by the eversion of the heel and the progressive angle of the foot), the loading time of the functional sections of the foot, the inclination angle of the foot, the frequency and the length of the stride. The results of the thesis show that the change in afferentation and the associated change in the biomechanics of foot strike in footwear have a statistically significant effect on the degree...
Analysis of a pressure distribution on the level of foot and shoe interaction when running in flatlands with minimalist and sport shoes.
Charousek, Jan ; Jandová, Soňa (advisor) ; Zvonař, Martin (referee) ; Zahradník, David (referee)
Problem: Running is one of the most widespread physical activities. Incorrect running technique, training quantity but also the runner's equipment can strongly affect health condition of the individual, both positively and negatively. For that reason various trends emerge in the area of running footwear. They include classical sports shoes with different types of impact attenuation as well as the minimalist footwear made to imitate barefoot running, which should be much more natural for humans, as insisted by B. Nigg in his book "Born to Run" - where he says that man was born to walk and run barefooted. Inappropriate shoes can cause various health complications, not only in the foot area. Objective: To find out how foot strike changes in the area of the foot-shoe interaction in running on flat ground when an amateur runner uses minimalist and sports footwear and to draw conclusions for training practice on the basis of the results. Methods: The thesis deals with amateur endurance running in different shoe types (minimalist and sports shoes). The study specimen consisted of 14 female runners (mean body weight 63,31 ± 4,89 kg, height 169,69 ± 4,71 cm, age 31,92 ± 5,34 years, speed in minimalist shoes (MO) 3,34 ± 0,06 m.s- 1 , speed in sports shoes (SO) 3,29 ± 0,06 m.s-1 , weekly mileage 37,54 ± 9,43...
Intervention motion program for women using walking barefoot.
BENDOVÁ, Dominika
The aim of the bachelor thesis was to the design of an Interventional movement program using barefoot walking and verifying the progress of the equilibrium abilities of the tested women. Because of research, 20 women were divided into experimental and control groups. In general, women often wear unsuitable high or narrow shoes, which has a detrimental effect not only on the balance but also on shortening of the muscles, deformation of the foot arch and fingers and it can cause other diseases of the whole musculoskeletal system. Women underwent an initial measurement to determine the level of equilibrium abilities. Women underwent entry and exit measurements using motor tests to determine the level of equilibrium. With the pre-set hypotheses in mind, it has been concluded that the experimental group improved in 5 motor tests from 7, the control group was more successful in 2 tests, but only within negligible tenths of a second, a statistically insignificant difference. The respondents' success rate in dynamic equilibrium was higher after completion of the program, with 51.85% than the static equilibrium with 48.15%, the whole 3.7%. The dynamic balance is more stimulated by barefoot than the static one. Due to the exercise and the inclusion of barefoot walking throughout the three-month program, the experimental group increased its level of equilibrium ability.
The effect of footwear on deformity of the foot in a woman - the role of the nurse in prevention
MLEJNKOVÁ, Natálie
The topic of this diploma thesis is "Influence of footwear on foot deformities in women - the role of nurses in prevention". The theoretical part is devoted to the foot anatomy, it describes the issue of heels on the foot and represents the Giraffe certification. The practical part of the qualitative research shows the role of nurses in preventing foot deformities for patients. This thesis has two goals. To find out what footwear affects the deformities of the legs in women and to find out what role the nurse plays in preventing this issue. The research questions are 1. What is the importance of wearing high-heeled shoes for women and how will this be reflected later? 2. What role do nurses attribute to the prevention in this issue? Data collection was collected by semi-structured interviews with nurses in the orthopaedic ward and orthopaedic clinics. The research sample consists of 20 respondents, the choice was deliberate and formed by snowball sampling. In February 2019, data was collected, which was subsequently terminated at the moment of theoretical saturation. The interview covered themes: wearing high-heeled shoes, leg deformities caused by high-heeled shoes, nurse-led prevention and education. The results show that only a fraction of nurses adhere to the role of a nurse who helps patients prevent leg deformities. The rest of the nurses leave prevention and education to doctors. This diploma thesis presents as a work output a poster, which can be an information material for nurses from the orthopaedic clinics and beds. The output of the thesis is an educational poster that will reflect the entire nursing issue in prevention (the role of a nurse, the deformity of the feet caused by high-heeled shoes, etc.).

Novák, Ondřej ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Nováková, Pavlína (referee)
Title: Influence of barefoot shoes on foot shape and subjective feelings of probands Objectives: The aim of the work was to find out if switching from conventional footwear to barefoot shoes would lead to shape changes in the foot. It was also investigated how proband will evaluate the change of footwear and whether there will be pain during the intervention. Last but not least, attention was paid to intra-individual and gender differences in responses to change. Methods: The non-randomized research group consisted of 9 volunteers (5 women, 4 males with average age 33.5 years). These individuals voluntarily and independently of the research survey decided to change from a common shoe to a barefoot. The research lasted for 3 months, during which the subjects surveyed recorded their subjective feelings. According to the research design, one group before and after the objective measurements of the shape characteristics of the feet using the DomeScan IVB software were made at the beginning and at the end of the research. The results were statistically processed using Excel and converted into graphical form. The questionnaire survey consisted of an introductory, regular weekly and final form. Results: Feet changes were made in the probands, but they were not statistically significant. Participants rated...
